Best of 2016

I know, I know, we are already seven days into the New Year, but I just wanted to create post of some of my favorite shots I took this year. I also started to challenge myself creatively by uploading weekly self portraits. You can check them out weekly on my Facebook page here!

Here's to another year and a great chance to grown and create!

Mad as a Hatter

The Mad Hatter: "Have I gone mad?"
Alice: "I'm afraid so.
You're entirely bonkers.
But I'll tell you a secret.
All the best people are."

The location was Hart Prairie in Flagstaff, Arizona. The mission was to prove to my friend, Amber, that she is not awkward in front of the camera. The result, gorgeous and magical photographs of someone who "doesn't know how to model". The feeling, beyond satisfied.

These are my favorite kind of photo shoots. Bouncing my original ideas around with my model, seeing beautiful places and having a great time (no matter how many strange looks we got from fellow hikers and campers). I'm so happy that I'm starting to shoot like this again, and I cannot wait for more ideas and opportunities to create even more beautiful images.

Family Portait Session: Tiffany, Shane & Willow

Last Sunday I finally picked up my camera after what has felt like forever and made my way to shoot one of my favorite little families. Tiffany and I have been friends ever since we worked together at the local public pool when she was pregnant with little Willow. Now, she is almost three years old, and Tiffany is expecting again.

I look forward to the arrival of her little boy and I know they are all very excited as well! This was a fun photo shoot near Watson Lake in Prescott and parts of Downtown Prescott. It was a warm day and everyone was quite a trooper for dealing with the heat and lack of cloud coverage. Props to them!

Into the Woods

“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” - John Muir

Once again, my favorite model, Kaitlyn, was willing to participate in yet another photo-shoot. She made this amazing twig crown and we both thought it would be a great idea to have a shoot with it. Of course, she did some great makeup and looked amazing.

I decided that a nice woodland backdrop would be the perfect spot for this shoot, and we drove up to Lynx Lake in Prescott and had at it. Of course, hikers and families passing by gave us a few questionable looks, but we continued on.

I like to think that the two of us make a great creative team. She is the genius behind the makeup and the story, and I start with a concept and capture it, and together we fine tune each others strengths.

Allsion & Traivs' Maternity Session

In June 2012, I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding for Allison and Travis. It was one of my first weddings, and of course, I was nervous to shoot such a large event, but all pulled through. Allison and Travis had so much faith in me, that they asked me to shoot a maternity shoot for them.

Two weeks ago, with my assistant (and best friend) Kelsey, we met up at Watson Lake, then traveled over to Granite Creek Park and downtown Prescott to take some fun, sweet pictures. It was a fun day and while the sun was out and warm, we were able to find some great locations for the shoot.

Allison and Travis are going to be welcoming their baby girl in just a few weeks. I know that they are going to be wonderful, loving parents! Such as sweet, happy couple.
